Caring for your Adornments

GENERAL – With proper care and gentle love, your jewelry is made to last lifetimes. Please remove your jewelry when doing activities such as gardening, showering, dishwashing, working out, moving large objects, swimming, etc. These simple activities can degrade gemstones, tarnish metals permanently, or cause pieces to fall apart, which often causes non-repairable damage. If you are purchasing true-opal jewelry please take even extra care. Jewelry and art made with stainless steel will be far more tarnish and rust resistant and is more suitable for jewelry wearers that would like to be able to get it wet in the shower, swimming etc.

CRYSTAL CARE – Please keep this in mind with any grade of crystals, gemstones and even some handblown glass – all of these delicate materials need to be worn with care. Opals have a softness that is comparable to glass, so with improper care, they can easily scratch or break. When exposed to chemicals or extreme temperatures opals can lose their luster and become permanently damaged, and many other stones, pearls and gemstones need this same care.

CLEANING – A reusable metal cleansing cloth is included in every order, please clean gently – these are not intended to use with buffing polish. This will remove any built up dirt and will remove any subtle tarnishing that is caused by long-term wear on sterling silver and some plated metals. Vintage or thrifted charms will tarnish easier, and require more care.

SUN CATCHER CARE – Place sun catchers in a window or area where they will not get wet from rain or humidifiers. The piece may need to regularly be dusted or wiped down with a small soft cloth to remove any built up dust or finger prints.

DISCLAIMER – peaceandpines art and jewelry is built to be very durable and secure but are not intended for children under the age of 13 because of the small metal, glass, crystal and wire pieces that make up the artwork or jewelry. Please keep out of reach of children and pets.

Backorder Items

If something is labeled “On Backorder” this indicates that I do not have the jewelry or artwork in stock, but you can place an order ‘request’ for me to create the piece for you. In 1-7 business days your order will be created and shipped out to you like a typical order.

Production Time

All ready-to-ship items will be sent out within 7 business days of payment. All made-to-order/custom items will take approximately 3-8 weeks to be completed. Of course, if you need your piece sooner I am happy to accommodate. Please note that the process of custom production may be interrupted by sourcing, shipping issues and personal events. You will be contacted if this occurs. **Please keep in mind, the Holiday rush from 11/24-12/20 often causes delays in processing time, as well as shipping.**


Domestic Shipping is tracked and insured. Orders will be shipped USPS First Class Mail (3-7 business days). 2-day shipping is available for $25, and overnight for $50. – These prices are subject to change – Please contact me before placing an order to upgrade your shipping.

International shipping is available to most countries. The risk of loss and title of merchandise shipped will pass upon you. Your order is subject to import duties and taxes that are not included in my shipping costs.

Returns & Exchanges 

Most ready-to-ship items are returnable within 7 days as long as the item has not been altered, worn or damaged. Due to the nature of handmade pieces, I do not accept returns on customs unless it is due to a manufacturing fault. If you are unsatisfied with the adornment/painting for an aesthetic reason, you may exchange the unworn piece for something of equal or lesser value. If the item was damaged in the mail, please contact me.

Service & Warranty

All pieces over $40 USD are welcomed to be sent back for service and repairs due to normal ‘wear and tear’. Not all pieces are repairable. Please know that any repairs that arise from carelessness or negligence to follow care instructions will be assessed and worked on a fair labor and material rate. This especially applies to damaged gemstones/beads/charms that must be replaced due to carelessness. 

Recycling & Composting Packaging

  1. Bubble-Lined Mailers and Bubble Wrap: please recycle these materials! most local recycling centers accept bubble mailers and bubble wrap. before recycling, ensure you remove any labels or tape to improve the recycling process.
  2. Paper Packaging: our cardboard boxes and paper envelopes are recyclable too! toss them into your recycling bin alongside other paper products. this helps ensure they get turned into new materials instead of ending up in landfills!
  3. Biodegradable Plant-Based Poly-Mailers: these special poly-mailers are designed to break down naturally. cut them into smaller pieces to aid decomposition and add them to your compost bin along with other organic waste. *only compost mailers that are labeled 100% bio-degradable
