hey, i’m kayla!

peaceandpines was brought into fruition not so long ago in winter 2019

inspired by frolicking in the forests of northern minnesota my entire life, I initially began crafting herbal tinctures, teas, soaps, and more, but soon transitioned into the world of handmade jewelry and home decor. today I specialize in making one-of-a-kind adornments made from environmentally conscious materials – pieces foraged from nature, thrifted from local stores, ethically sourced crystals, and upcycled vintage jewelry!

my dedication to sustainability and ethical production practices is a fundamental aspect of the brand. you can feel confident about the jewelry you’re wearing, or art that you’re displaying, knowing that each piece was made with care and respect for the environment. each piece is made in my studio up north, and when i’m not creating, i’m probably out hiking with my fiancรฉ Bjorn, and our adventure cat, marcel.

my environmental commitment

peaceandpines is committed to eco-conscious and ethical production practices. one way i achieve this is by shopping locally for supplies whenever possible. by sourcing my materials from nearby suppliers, i reduce my overall carbon footprint and support my local community & businesses. in addition, i carefully source our non-local materials to ensure they are as sustainable and as ethically sourced as i have access to. this includes using recycled shipping materials, vintage metals, reclaimed wood or bone, ethically harvested or sourced insects/plants, and natural crystals/gemstones that are mined in a responsible and environmentally-friendly manner. i also reduce my paper waste by having all receipts and newsletters sent digitally. by prioritizing sustainable practices in every aspect of my business, i am making a positive impact on the environment and creating jewelry that my customers can feel good about wearing. please read the shipping information section to learn more about our sustainable packaging, and how to recycle!
